What is unique about the MomCo?

MomCo is daring women to dream again in a culture of cynicism. Filled with bright, passionate leaders who are compelled by the way of Jesus, we're committed to sharing the Gospel in winsome, honest ways. While the work we do is dead serious, we aren't. We model our programming after Jesus, who was playful in spirit, ate with sinners and yet took sin seriously, and washed the feet of the person who was about to betray Him. We want to bless our neighbors, train leaders to share their faith, and be part of God's spiritual renewal and transformation in the world. We combine community, curriculum, coaching, and Scripture to activate moms in their purpose. This is where motherhood meets kingdom calling.

Is this just another women's Bible study?

Nope. MomCo weaves spiritual truth, leadership development, practical tools, and a lot of fun. Think: Jesus + masterclasses + life-changing friendship.

What kind of support does the MomCo provide?

We offer world-class leadership training, personal coaching, a done-for-you curriculum, marketing tools, tech support, a private leader portal, and ongoing encouragement from a nationwide network of leaders. You’re never doing this alone.

How does MomCo help with discipleship and outreach?

MomCo meets moms where they are—offering a grace-filled space that leads to profound transformation. Through biblically-based curriculum, intergenerational mentorship, and community, moms grow in their faith and become catalysts for outreach in their homes, schools and neighborhoods. Many women who come to MomCo have no biblical literacy, so we start at the beginning. Many groups offer additional off-week opportunities, including 'Bible Basics', a 6-week gathering to discuss:

- What is the Bible?

- What does it say about God?

- How do I find my way around the Bible?

- Looking at the backstory: Are the Bible documents reliable?

- Who was Jesus?

- What did Jesus teach?

- What's the deal with the Holy Spirit?

- How does the Bible affect my life?

Where does the MomCo host groups around the world?

The MomCo hosts meetings in 112 countries and 30 different languages worldwide.

Does the MomCo align with our church's theology or denominational standards?

Yes. MomCo embodies a confident orthodox Christianity, where we are less interested in debating our neighbors and more interested in serving them in tangible ways. We believe God provides a kingdom ethic that transcends time, cultures, and political affinities. MomCo is a Gospel-centered ministry that partners with over 90+ Christian traditions. We equip leaders to lead in alignment with your church's values and theology.

What does it cost to start a group?

We ask for a $499 fee to cover the cost of chartering a group – that includes getting you through the launch process, ongoing training and coaching for your leaders, and getting your group access to the library of curriculum. But if money’s tight, don’t stress. Just give us a call—we’ve got you.

We’ll help you get started for free if needed. Annual renewal is $229/year, that fee helps us create amazing content, support leaders, and keep this movement going strong. Many groups fundraise or share the cost with a membership dues, or you can talk to your host church about helping to support your group.

What's included in leadership training?

MomCo provides extensive training for church leaders and volunteers to ensure that your mom ministry is effective and sustainable. See our Leadership Training Overview for all that we offer in our signature training!

How many leaders do I need?

All it takes is one mom to start a MomCo group, but it's always more fun with a team. We recommend recruiting at least one more person to get started with, and your team can grow with your group as more moms become invested in it.

How much of a time commitment is it for a group volunteer leader?

The average leader invests 4-8 hours monthly during the active season. But with MomCo's plug-and-play resources, leaders don't have to build anything from scratch.

What topics does the curriculum cover?

Every year, MomCo creates new curriculum, meeting plans, and activities that provide leaders with a full year of meeting plans and content. We tackle the real stuff moms are talking about—the things they whisper to each other on the side-lines of their kid's soccer games, text about in the middle of the night, and wonder about silently in their hearts. Our curriculum is honest, practical and faith-centered.

Each session invites deep connection, spiritual reflection and practical tools for everyday life. No fluff. No shame. Just what moms are really looking for. See more about our curriculum here.

What is MomCo membership?

Membership gives moms access to the full curriculum, app, resources, discounts, and online community. It's their passport to belonging, growth, and purpose—all that for only $37 a year!

What is the MomCo's Mission Statement?

MomCo encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women, and leaders in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.

Read more about who we are here.

What is the history of the MomCo?

Founded in 1973. This isn't theory—it's legacy.

In the early 70s, a group of 5 moms decided to start a group at their church for moms and called it MOPS, short for Mothers of Preschoolers. Since then, it has grown into a movement that reaches 3 million moms a year in 109 countries and 30 languages. God uses our small “yes”-es to expand the kingdom in profound ways.

In 2023, we rebranded from MOPS to MomCo. Read about our rebrand here.

How do I know moms will show up?

We'll give you tools to promote your group locally and tips to reach moms in your city. Word of Mom spreads fast. It's ok to start small and grow from there. Many groups grow from 5 to 50 moms in their first year.

If there is already a MomCo group in my area, will I be competing with them? Is there a saturation point?

Great question! There are 2.2 billion moms worldwide, with 85 million just in the U.S. There are so many moms who need to hear about Jesus! Multiple groups in a city help grow all the groups, because moms spread the word, and when there is a waiting list at one group, moms will look for a different group to attend. Another opportunity is to host your meeting at a different time. If another group hosts their meeting in the morning, host yours in the evening to reach moms needing an alternative day or time.

When should we host meetings?

Some groups meet on weekday mornings (with childcare), but evenings and weekends work great too—especially for working moms. Choose what works best for you and the moms you’re inviting.

How frequently do MomCo meetings occur? Monthly, bi-weekly, etc.?

Most groups meet twice a month. Many pause during the summer. It's flexible. Whatever time you choose, moms will come.

Do we need to offer childcare?

It's not required, but oftentimes, offering childcare = increased attendance.

How do we handle the finances of this group?

If you are hosting this group at a church:

Groups that are hosted in a church are encouraged to work with the church’s finance team to agree on a system, whether the MomCo group can be a line item on the church’s budget, or the group holds its own finances as a Leadership Team. It can be easier to access bank accounts when it is done through the church. The group can fund itself by turning in any fundraising proceeds and member dues to the church, and handling its expenses with check requests. Often, the church has worked with other ministry groups and already has an established process for this, or advice how it has worked well in the past. Whatever your group decides, you’ll find support in your Cohort with answers to your questions and examples from well established MomCo Leaders!

If you are hosting this group at your house or in the community:

It will be important to  plan your group’s budget based on the annual renewal fee plus expenses you expect to incur, such as for speaker fees, group supplies for hospitality or decorations, and activities such as crafts or games. You might also consider a small gift for your leaders at the end of the year. Your Cohort is your best resource as you think through all of the expenses you need to plan for!

What kind of support does MomCo offer to leaders?

We offer world-class leadership training, personal coaching, a done-for-you curriculum, marketing tools, tech support, a private leader portal, and ongoing encouragement from a nationwide network of leaders. You're never doing this alone.

What is MOMCON [aka MomCo’s Annual Conference]?

This is not your Grandma’s women’s conference! MOMCON is our annual conference for MomCo leaders and participants—it’s where future-shaping women gather to have transformative conversations in faith, culture and leadership. Think TED Talk meets church camp meets pop concert. It’s a three-day, full-throttle experience for women who want to think deeply about topics that matter. Get all the details here [https://www.themom.co/momcon/

Do you have resources to share with a church I want to host a group at?

Yes! Check them out here.

I'm a mom, and I've never led anything before. Can I still lead a group?

Yes. Most of our leaders started just like you! We'll provide the tools, training and backup to help you lead with confidence.

Can a grandmother or mom with grown kids lead?

Absolutely. Some of our best leaders are empty nesters or grandmothers. What matters most is a heart for moms and a willingness to create space for others to connect, grow, and meet Jesus.

What do Meeting Plans include?

Each MomCo Meeting Plan is a power-packed toolkit designed to make your group time meaningful, fun, and deeply transformative, without you having to reinvent the wheel.

Here’s what you’ll get:

- Short-form video content featuring trusted, biblically grounded voices and real-world experts—delivered in a format that sparks both laughter and life change.

- Leader Tips to help you feel equipped, encouraged, and one step ahead.

- Welcome Activities that break the ice and get moms talking (and actually enjoying it).

- Meeting Activities that are relevant, hands-on, and never cringe.

- Table Conversation Starters that move beyond surface-level to real talk—because deep connection is what moms are craving.

- Devotionals that weave Scripture into everyday motherhood in a way that’s relatable, powerful and inspiring.

- Bonus Material like curated reads, creative extras, and go-the-extra-mile ideas to help your group thrive.

Think of it as a plug-and-play experience that turns an ordinary meetup into a moment that matters.

What is the theme for the year?

Every year we have a theme that guides our conversations and content. It’s a big rallying point for groups all over the world. Check out our theme this year: https://www.themom.co/theme-reveal/

Who develops the MomCo curriculum?

A team oversees the creation of curriculum content. It includes theologians, pastors, moms, and leaders. The process starts with prayer and fasting, asking God what He wants the focus to be for the year. From there, we choose a Bible passage that serves as the foundation of the theme and content creation.

Does every mom in our group need a MomCo membership? What about guests who want to try out MomCo before joining?

Yes, for ongoing participation. But moms can visit before joining—no pressure.

Which moms is this for?

All moms. Married, single, working, stay-at-home, new, seasoned, foster, adoptive—you name it. If she's a mom, she belongs here.

Can dads come?

Our groups are for moms, but many events (like family nights or service projects) are open to Dads and kids.

How will a church benefit from hosting a group for moms?

Every month, 22,000+ moms search for a MomCo group—many of whom are looking for a church home. MomCo creates a welcoming, low-barrier entry point that helps moms take their first step toward faith. Hosting a MomCo group energizes your church by creating a vibrant community for families. When moms find connection, encouragement, and spiritual growth, their entire families are more likely to get involved in the life of your church. It's not just a ministry—it's a front door to deeper engagement.

Will this help us grow our church attendance?

Yes. 94% of MomCo churches report increased attendance and engagement, particularly among young families.

How much staff time does this take?

Less than 2 hours/month. Seriously.

What is the MomCo ministry agreement

It's a simple commitment to acknowledge MomCo's mission, values, and safety standards. We keep it clear, supportive, and easy to follow. Check it out here: [INSERT]
